Vice Principal & HOD
Dr. D.V. Chandrasekhar received his Ph.D. degree from Bangalore University in 2004. He is currently serving as Vice-Principal, Professor, and Head of the Department of Basic Science and Humanities at Vivekananda Institute of Technology, Bangalore. He possesses an exceptional 28 years of teaching experience in professional engineering colleges, alongside guiding scholars for M.Phil and Ph.D. degrees.
His major research interests include Advanced Fluid Mechanics, Linear Algebra & Optimization, Probability and Statistics, and Computer Engineering. He has published numerous research articles in reputed national and international journals.

The Department of Basic Science and Humanities was established in 1997, when Vivekananda Institute of Technology was founded. The department is the academic bedrock of the institute, welcoming an annual intake of 570 first-year engineering students across all disciplines.
